Hello, I’m Helen Wan, author of THE PARTNER TRACK (St. Martin’s Press). I’m a novelist, lawyer, and speaker. I write most often about women in the workplace and how race, sex, and class impact the personal and professional decisions people make. I’ve written for The Washington Post, CNN, The Daily Beast, The Huffington Post, and others. My book THE PARTNER TRACK is the story of a young woman of color competing for partnership at a powerful, prestigious law firm. It’s about trying to pursue success and live authentically in the business world while staying true to oneself.
I’m fascinated by our complicated relationship with ambition. I love a good workplace story. I root for underdogs.
I speak at many universities, companies, schools, law firms, conferences, and leadership events around the country about how women and people of color often experience the career ladder, and how to achieve a more inclusive workplace. I’m thrilled that my book is now taught in law school and college classrooms. I have also taught fiction writing in New York.
I’m currently at work on a new novel. When not writing or teaching, I also love to read anything I can get my hands on, explore new places, relax with my family, and make our young son laugh. You can find me on Facebook or on Twitter @helenwan1. Thanks for visiting my website! I’m glad to meet you. Here’s to your happiness and success–however they may be defined by you.
